Easy to use and it works!
I bought this for my 9-year-old for Christmas and was surprised how well it works! We froze water in the supplied cups so we had a block of ice that fit perfectly into the machine. My child had no problems pushing the large button while pressing down to make the shaved ice. The only thing that we will do differently next time is to chill the syrup first. We had kept the syrup at room and it melted the snow cone.
Since we just started using it, I can't say how durable it is. It looks to be reasonably well made. The plastic housing is thin, but not flimsy.
We love this ice shaver!
This ice shaver is just perfect for my 6 year old and I. You can make a snow cone in literally 1 minute. You just plug it in, pop in some ice from your freezer and push down. I was very surprised at how quickly the paper cone fills up. My one complaint is that the knob that adjusts the ice thickness is a little flimsy and it's difficult to tell which setting it's on, but I don't really care. In comparison to the Snoopy Snow Cone machine that I had when I was a kid, it's a dream. Kids today are lucky!!!
We've tried the blue raspberry, and tangerine syrups and they're really good. But, the sugar-free syrups taste like cough syrup - YUCK! I just use less of the regular syrup if I want low calorie.
Great for Kids
My daughter wanted a snow cone machine for her birthday. I looked at many of them and ended up with this one. It is really great for the price and use. It's not too hard to use. The little cup holder thing is nice if you are using the conical cups. The ice trays are great but you can also use regular sour cream containers etc for extra ice.
