Nonsmokers delight
I hosted my first family Christmas at my house this year. Everyone in my immediate family smokes with me being the exception, my Mother being the worst offender. She is seriously addicted (60 years at least) and could not visit if she wasn't allowed to smoke. She can barely make the two hour flight here, without going bonkers. I love her dearly and understand her and many other smokers' addiction. I purchased smokeless ash trays and the Febreze True Air filters for tobacco odors (and the plug mount) to help combat the problem. I only expected the Febreze filters for tobacco odors to at most mask the lingering smoke smell in the house. I found myself amazingly surprised that my house is odor free after having more than 5 smokers in my house for over a week!!! WOW!! Who'd a thunk it! Well worth the money, especially for us NON Smokers who once in a while have to accommodate friends and family who are addicted to that pesky tobacco:)
Better than the original filter.
I got the febreeze odor eliminator as a baby shower gift for the nursery. We have neighbors that smoke and the smell sometimes gets in to the baby's room so I got this filter when it was time to replace the one already in the odor eliminator and it works wonders. The smell from his diaper genie as well as the cigarette smell is no longer in his room. I would recommended this as the replacement filter even if you don't have smokers in your home.
other odors (cancer/urine)
I sadly write this review, hoping it will be of help to other families. My dad came home two days ago for home hospice with endstage cancer. At the hospice house, my mom had a real hard time coping with the strong odor in the room, the nurse said it was from the advanced cancer, he also has lots of bloodclots in his urine bag. I know this is an awful subject to read about, and difficult for me to type, but again - trying to help other families. I had used this filter in my house by the dogs crates and it works nicely. We ordered one for my parents bedroom on Amazon one-day shipping and plugged it in last night. By this morning, my mom says it is sooooo much better. I will spinkle baking soda in the carpet as well and have been using the febreze pet spray which also helps a lot (good odor control and MILD pleasant scent). We are expecting friends and family to be visiting soon and have been so worried they would have trouble with the odor. WE ARE SO RELIEVED. My dad is not...
